From ideas to impact, experience how digital teams use technology, creativity, and problem-solving to tackle real business challenges. Our one-week ICT & Digital Innovation Sprint gives you the opportunity to explore careers in digital technology while working collaboratively to solve a genuine business challenge. Supported by digital professionals, you’ll experience how technology teams understand problems, generate ideas, develop concepts, build prototypes, test their thinking and present solutions. The programme uses an approach inspired by the Google Design Sprint methodology. You’ll also explore areas including digital innovation, user-centred design, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data, software development, and emerging technologies. Understand people and problems: Explore users and stakeholders, carry out research and consider what people really need before developing a solution. Turn ideas into solutions: Use design thinking techniques to generate ideas, explore different concepts and decide which ideas to take forward. Build and test a prototype: Create wireframes and digital mock-ups, explore low-code and no-code tools and develop a prototype that can be tested with users. Pitch your ideas: Bring your team’s thinking together and present your prototype and recommendations, explaining the value of your solution and responding to questions. Programme Structure Day 1: Discover Sellafield and Digital Day 2: Understand and Imagine Day 3 Create Start your week by discovering more about Sellafield, meeting digital professionals and preparing for the challenge ahead. Discover the challenge. Understand the people. Generate ideas. Meet digital professionals, explore your business challenge and understand the users and stakeholders involved. Use research and design-thinking techniques to identify user needs, generate possible solutions and decide which concepts your team wants to develop. Turn your idea into something people can experience. Explore wireframes, digital mock-ups and low-code or no-code tools as you develop your team’s prototype. Work with mentors, receive feedback and continue developing your solution. Day 4 Test, Refine and Pitch Day 5 Reflect and Look Forward Learn from users. Improve your solution. Tell your story. Test your prototype, gather feedback and challenge your assumptions. Use what you discover to refine your solution before presenting your prototype, explaining its value and responding to questions. Reflect on your experiences during the week, the skills you’ve developed and what you’ve discovered about digital careers. Consider what you enjoyed, where your strengths came through and which opportunities you might want to explore next.
